A day with Tay

Last Saturday Tay and I spent the day together. She came with me to work then we headed off for some adventures around the area.
First stop was the library to get some movies and magazines for the weekend, then we were off to find some garage sales and a thrift store in 70 Mile.
Sugar Shack in 70 Mile - they sell REAL maple syrup, and a few other Eastern Canada treats!

POUTINE!! Real Poutine - it was huge and Tay and I LOVED IT!!

The storm we had to drive back through on the way home! Right as we were leaving a lightning hit the ground

Downpour of rain in 100 Mile House - there were rivers on the side of the road!

So cute!

Back to normal harmless skies again! Whew!

Mount Begbie

Last weekend I took the kids to the lookout up Mount Begbie. Every time we pass it coming home I want to go up and have a look. At the top you can see 9,000,000 hectares
of the Cariboo! Perfect Place for a fire lookout!

It was a steep uphill climb! The highway below!

Russ and his buddy Jeremiah checking things out

The boys had to climb the super steep part!! This is a close up

They are up at the top of this trial - Ekk - Tay and I decided to stay on flatter ground!

Erins visit

My wonderful friend Erin (my neighbour in Victoria) and her family came up in July for a visit and we had soooo much fun! It was great to show her around and spend time visiting and drinking lots of tea!
They brought up some little model airplanes for the kids to put together and fly around - it kept them busy for a good hour or so and then I remembered that there was a model airshow at the 108 Airport so we all decided to go have a look! Even the big boys enjoyed that!

Hanging out around the fire eating WAY to many Marshmallows!

Alans new friend - Shay LOVES Alan, I'm not sure it went both ways though - he was very patient with her.

Falls on Bridge Creek

Goofy guy!!
Erin and I took the kids to town and had tea at the Chartreuse Moose (100 Miles best coffee shop!), wondered downtown and then went down to see the falls and let the kids play at the park.
We had a great three days together - kids had so much fun together, we had a couple fires in the evening, went for walks around the property - it was so nice.
Oh to be neighbours again!  One can Always dream!
Photo: Miss you already, Kelly!

See you soon Erin, thank you soooooooooooo much for taking the time to come see us!!

My cozy bed in Sorrento!

When I went down to Sorrento to pick up Erin, Alan and the kids to come up to our place for a visit,  I decided to spend the night in my car, how bad could it be? I made a screen for the front window and put down some foamies and a some cozy blankets - it was the best I had a great nights sleep and I had reading lights, cubby holes for my glasses and keys - it was great!
Probably wouldn't be very cozy with more than one but for me it was NICE!

Sunset

Dylan caught this sunset one night!
Cariboo Sunsets are the best - in my opinion!
